Family Trip 2024, Kelantan-Songkhla-Hatyai
25-31 May 2024
We started our journey early from Kuala Lumpur, excited for the long drive ahead. The scenic route towards the East Coast was calming, with greenery and kampung views along the way.
Our first stop was Kota Bharu in Kelantan. We explored the town, visited local markets, and enjoyed authentic Kelantanese food. But the highlight in Kelantan was our Sarong Dinner.
That evening, we all dressed in sarong to embrace the traditional vibe. Sitting together in a relaxed setting, wearing matching sarongs, made the experience even more meaningful. It wasn’t just about the food — it was about celebrating tradition and family.
The next day, we crossed the border into Thailand and made our way to Pattani. We explored the town, tried local halal street food, and experienced the unique blend of Malay-Thai culture. It felt familiar, yet different at the same time.
From Pattani, we continued to Songkhla. We strolled around the charming old town and visited Samila Beach. In the afternoon, we visited the lively Khlong Hae Floating Market. Eating from boats floating on the river was such a unique experience.
One night, we had dinner at Klong Hae Steamboat. Sitting together around the pot, cooking fresh seafood, meat, and vegetables made the dinner feel warm.
Another day, we enjoyed a hearty meal at Thailand Halal Shabu Shabu. The variety was amazing — fresh slices of beef, chicken, seafood, and endless sauces. We ate until we were completely full and satisfied.
As 31 May arrived, it was time to pack up and head back to Kuala Lumpur.

Our 2023 family trip was one of the most adventurous and exciting journeys we’ve ever had. From city lights in Hatyai to island vibes in Krabi, every day was filled with new experiences, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
We began our road trip from Kuala Lumpur early in the morning, full of excitement. After crossing the border and reaching Hatyai, we checked in at Lee Garden Plaza Hotel, right in the heart of the city.
One of the most exciting activities in Hatyai was visiting Chak Phuak Camp. Riding an elephant was a brand-new experience for most of us!
After Hatyai, we checked into hotel at Krabi, there we spent our days exploring Krabi’s famous beaches, enjoying water activities, and snorkeling in the clear sea. Swimming among small fish and seeing the underwater world
After our relaxing time in Krabi, we returned to Hatyai for the final part of our trip.
